Have you ever felt like you learn something new about yourself everyday whether it is bad or good. Well, if you do not feel this way, unfortunately, you are truly missing out. I truly believe that there are too many femmes (women) in the world who suffer from low self-esteem, in search of validation from others, close minded, have a pessimistic outlook, and are not aware of their own identity. These are only the primary ingredients that hinder us (ladies) from learning about ourselves. Honestly, I was once and at times still is a victim of these hideous tormenting and oppressing self evaluations. I believe Dr. Phil said it the best, “…we can not change what we can not acknowledge.” Once you acknowledge that you have a problem that prevents you from being happy, that is where the healing can begin.
Think about it, why do we take time out of our fabulously busy and productive schedules to destroy the one person on earth that should love you the most? FYI: YOU should love you the most. Why do we constantly neglect ourselves by spending too much time trying to please someone else; are WE not just as important? Also, we continue to diminish our self worth and confidence by trying to be someone else. At times, we define failure as a lack of success to perform a duty/expected duty, however; I prefer to define failure as a blessing also known as a lesson is disguise.
God, give us grace to accept with serenity the things that cannot be changed,Courage to change the things which should be changed, and the Wisdom to distinguish the one from the other.
Focusing on our positive features, succeeding, and your own needs and desires, (LADIES, this is so not selfish), may help you to not only learn new things about yourself; but also learn to love yourself. Even though it took me a while to learn these things, I have learned that loving me allowed me to acknowledge many great qualities about myself. Furthermore, it helped me to stop negatively speaking out against women who are no different than I am. Learning and loving myself has surrounded me with like-minded/ open-minded individuals I can truly call friends. Ladies when we start loving ourselves funny things start to happen, such as; our friend’s starts to decrease because we start to find who our true friends are.
Don’t get me wrong, I am no saint. As I build my relationship with the MAN upstairs, sip my wine while I take a bubble bath and listening to my favorite tunes or while I read by favorite novels, indulge in an inspirational, empowering, and at times a crazy girls night out; I learn more and more about myself each day. I need to learn more about me and what makes me happy because one day I might need to teach another how to love me.
